ArcSoft partners with Sharp to provide DLNA solutions to AQUOS users in Japan

ArcSoft Inc, the industry leading software provider of multimedia technologies and applications across desktop, mobile and embedded platforms, announced Monday that it is partnering with Sharp to bring Digital Living Network Alliance (DLNA) technologies to several of its latest AQUOS PHONEs so that users can access their photos, videos, and music from different DLNA devices, and control the playing of media on TV.

Sharp’s wide variety of mobile devices with DLNA capability run on the Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) operating system and include: docomo:docomo NEXT series AQUOS PHONE SH-12C, docomo AQUOS PHONE f SH-13C; au:IS03 : IS05 : AQUOS PHONE IS11SH, AQUOS PHONE IS12SH; SoftBank:AQUOS PHONE SoftBank 006SH, AQUOS PHONE THE HYBRID SoftBank 007SH, AQUOS PHONE THE HYBRID SoftBank 007SH J, AQUOS PHONE THE PREMIUM SoftBank 009SH, Yahoo! Phone SoftBank 009SH Y.

All devices have been shipping in Japan in 2011.

With MediaSee, AQUOS PHONEs play many different roles in the digital flow. It can be a Digital Media Explorer (DME) for users to browse digital media from their tablets, NAS or personal computers; it can be a Digital Media Player (DMP) to play media contents from other devices on the phone; it can also be a remote control to grab media files from itself or other devices and play them on TV, including protected Blu-ray contents on AQUOS LCD TVs.
