Citrix on Thursday announced it is offering its market-leading, cloud-based remote access product, Citrix GoToMyPC, to customers in Japan through partnerships with KDDI Corp and Ascentech KK. The two companies will deliver GoToMyPC both as a standalone solution and as an integrated service offering, giving their customers a simple, reliable and secure solution to access files, programs, email and networks on their Mac or PC from any web browser, iOS or Android tablet or smartphone. Each partner will also provide customer support in Japanese.

Tools that support new mobile workstyles are increasingly important as companies look for ways to improve mobility, business continuity and productivity while reducing costs. Recent research has shown that 77% of Japanese smartphone users access web-based and mobile apps daily, emphasizing the reliance on mobile devices to access and get work done on the go. According to a study by the Bank of Japan, 97% of those surveyed had reviewed their business continuity plans following the March 2011 megaquake and tsunami and 70% reported “some inadequacies remain” with their current plans.

“Whether you’re home working after hours, commuting or traveling on business, it is more important than ever for global employees to have secure access to their files and programs, wherever they are,” said Mike Musson, vice president of strategy and business development for the Online Services Division at Citrix. “We’re pleased to partner with KDDI and Ascentech, two leading business solution providers, so that more companies can benefit from the workforce flexibility and productivity GoToMyPC can offer.”

Through KDDI’s partnership with Citrix, the company can now offer its customers a fast and secure solution in GoToMyPC that gives users the flexibility to access their important files and programs on their Mac or PC from their tablet, smartphone, or laptop, anywhere in the world.”
