NTT Docomo and Lawson have announced a partnership that will provide more than 54 million members of docomo Premier Club and other customers shopping at Lawson’s 11,000 convenience stores throughout Japan with discounts and other benefits. The aim is to offer customers enhanced convenience, as well as to stimulate reciprocal business and thereby mutually enhance corporate value.
n
Starting June 1, customers who use Docomo’s DCMXTM or DCMX mini credit payment service for purchases at Lawson stores will receive a three-percent discount when settling their monthly bill.
n
Also, starting Dec 1, Docomo’s “d point,” a loyalty program that is open to anyone including non-DOCOMO subscribers, will be accepted at Lawson stores. Customers will be able to accumulate and redeem loyalty points by simply presenting their “d cardTMnotice1” or “d point cardnotice1” at a cashier. One d point, worth one yen, will be accumulated for every 100 yen spent at a store, even for payment in cash.
n
The points can be redeemed for purchases at Lawson stores, and Docomo subscribers can also use the points when settling monthly Docomo bills or paying for new devices, online content and various Docomo services.
n
Furthermore, anyone who pays with their d card at a Lawson store will receive another one-percent loyalty point. As a result, customers who shop at Lawson stores with a d card will receive in effect a five-percent reward in total.
n
In a related move, Docomo smartphones will come with the Lawson app pre-installed.
