DoCoMo to invest in Bangladesh

NTT DoCoMo Inc said Monday it will invest $350 million in TM International (Bangladesh) Ltd to acquire 30% of the outstanding shares in the South Asian country’s third-biggest mobile operator.

The Japanese mobile phone giant will buy the Bangladeshi firm’s shares from Bangladeshi conglomerate AK Khan Co and its four group firms by the end of this year. TM International offers mobile phone services in Bangladesh under the AKTEL brand name.
