NTT Docomo says that beginning in July, its dmarket portal will offer anime and music content on a convenient flat-rate basis for smartphone and tablet users subscribing to Docomo’s “sp-mode” access service.
n
The new ANIME Store, expected to launch as Japan’s largest flat-rate anime distribution service, will offer 10,000 episodes of 500 anime titles for just 420 yen (tax included) per month. Customers also will have access to special content, such as interviews of celebrity anime fans and famous voice actors, anime news and trends, special campaigns and more.
n
The new MUSIC Store Selection service will offer unlimited streaming via eight channels totaling 50 programs and more than 2,000 songs for 315 yen (tax included) per month. The content, centered on Japanese pop music, will be refreshed periodically. Each channel will focus on a specific category, such as special artists, top hits and more.
n
MUSIC Store Selection songs will be chosen from Docomo’s pay-per-download MUSIC Store service, which offers a vast catalog of some one million songs.
n
Both Anime Store and Music Store Selection will require a Docomo smartphone or Docomo tablet that runs on Android 2.3 or higher and supports Digital Rights Management (DRM) for audio-visual content.
n
Docomo’s dmarket portal provides smartphone and tablet users with a wide variety of content, including apps and audio-visual content such as anime, music, e-books and much more. Going forward, Docomo will continue to enhance its dmarket portal for enriched mobile experiences.
