The Imperial Hotel Tokyo has installed a system whereby it can use the water used by the hotel staff (from various sources, including that created through use of air-conditioning, etc.) 24 hours a day in facilities inside the Tower to help generate additional electricity.

The system doesn’t use water from the guestrooms, which are not always fully used 24 hours a day. The hotel said the system should generate around 15,000 kwh per year, and is the first of its kind in the hotel industry. The supply is predicted to be stable, and this system does not generate any carbon dioxide.
