In brief: Genesia Ventures launches $80m second fund
Genesia Ventures announced the first close of its second fund, Genesia Venture Fund II, raising a total of US$45 million. The second fund will continue offering subscription until the final offering at the end of September 2019. The final total amount of the fund is estimated to be US$80 million.

The second fund will focus on seed-stage startups in Japan and Southeast Asia. The firm recently led a seed funding round for Vietnam-based food services procurement platform Kamereo.

Industry veteran Takahiro Suzuki, who is based in Indonesia, has been appointed as a general partner for the second fund. A representative office in Jakarta is also reportedly underway.
