McAfee Co Ltd, the Japanese subsidiary of McAfee, is teaming up with Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corp to provide technology to create a mobile security application that will be used on the Hikari iFrame tablet. This security technology is based on McAfee® Mobile Security software, a powerful mobile security suite that combines anti-malware, anti-theft and Web safety features.

Hikari iFrame is NTT East’s original tablet device. The mobile security applications are designed to protect Hikari iFrame users from malware threats and illicit websites that try to steal personal and sensitive information. The service can be downloaded, starting this month, from the “FLET’s Market” when the consumer sets up their device.

“The popularity of mobile devices, such as smartphones, tablets and information terminals like the Hikari iFrame, continues to increase,” said Jean-Claude Broido, president of McAfee Japan. “We’re pleased to provide technical cooperation to NTT East to protect Hikari iFrame users. With security technology based on McAfee Mobile Security, Hikari iFrame users will be protected from malware and malicious websites, helping them to safely browse the Web.”
