NEC enables smartphone access to work environments on cloud

NEC Corp is providing a new service, NEC Cloud Smartphone, that allows employees to securely access their work while away from the office by virtualizing smart devices, such as smartphones and tablets.

In recent years, smart devices have become widely used throughout markets all over the world, and a strong need has emerged for employees to easily access work information from smartphones while away from the office. Meanwhile, the ability for people to use their personal smart devices for work purposes is also expanding, which has raised the level of urgency for companies to provide a safe and secure environment that protects against security risks and the loss of information.

The NEC Cloud Smartphone addresses these issues by protecting information through a virtualized smartphone environment on the cloud. When users connect to this Virtual Smartphone from their personal smart devices, none of the applications or data they access are saved to their actual smartphone or tablet.

As a result, NEC Cloud Smartphone users can safely and securely access office data from remote locations with their smartphone, without the risk of leaking information from a lost device.
