NEC Corp will be a gold sponsor of the Vodafone Innovation Day 2011 from Tuesday through Thursday at the Vodafone Test & Innovation Center in Düsseldorf, Germany. NEC will showcase some of its IT solutions and technologies under development for the benefit of Vodafone’s subscribers and enterprise customers.
n
NEC’s interactive exhibits will illustrate how diverse technologies can be integrated to create new business opportunities. These include:
n
“PaPeRo” the Communicating Robot.
n
It will welcome guests to the event, who can interact with him through speech, touch and movement. PaPeRo’s applications include healthcare, where he can monitor patients’ well-being, and provide them with health advice and stimulus in their own homes.
n
The Cloud Communicator
n
The Cloud Communicator is an Android based tablet featuring two 7″ screens. Guests will see how it interacts with NEC’s M2M platform – known as Connexive – to deliver a range of healthcare applications. These take advantage of the cloud’s potential for secure data sharing to maximize the efficiency of front-line medical staff.
n
Virtually Me – interactive digital signage for the retail sector
n
As visitors pass in front of display screens equipped with a range of sensors, a tailored advertisement is created for each “shopper”, based on age, gender and M2M (machine-to-machine) interactions. This leveraging of information about individual customers allows retailers to display goods for maximum impact.
