Panasonic Corp has received the gold award at the International Design Excellence Awards 2010 sponsored by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) for its EVERLEDS LED light bulbs.

Using Panasonic’s unique heat dissipation technology, the light bulbs feature a cylinder-shaped compact design of which the LED package and the aluminum chassis are attached closely thereby improving the luminance efficiency. In addition, its flat surface design and shape distinctively keeps it free from dust.

Panasonic launched the standard-size E26 LED bulb and the industry’s first compact-size E17 LED bulb in October 2009 in Japan. The E17 bulb is designed to replace compact bulbs such as mini-kryptons light bulbs, of which conventional fluorescent light bulbs had been too large to fit.

The gold award for the IDEA 2010 marks the third international design recognition for the energy-efficient and long-life EVERLEDS LED light bulbs, following the Good Design Award 2009 in Japan and the iF Product Design Award 2010 in Germany.
