Texas company to provide call center support for tsunami, nuclear disaster victims in Iwaki

Fonality, a pioneer in IP-based business communications solutions for small and mid-size businesses, in a coordinated effort with DioJapan, Communication Business Avenue (CBA) and QLOOG, has been selected by the city of Iwaki in Fukushima Prefecture to implement communications technology for a new call center that will offer around-the-clock support to those affected by the March 2011 tsunami and Fukushima Daiichi nuclear power plant disasters.

Fonality’s trixbox Pro, an IP-PBX software based, hybrid-hosted platform, will serve as the hub for this mission critical project.

The call center will operate 24/7 as the primary information network between the government and the citizens, providing important information, such as healthcare and housing assistance. The call center is a critical part of a massive government financial assistance plan for Japan residents.
