Virtual reality startup wins premier Japanese startup pitch battle

Infinity Ventures Summit took place earlier this week in the beef capital of Japan, Kobe. Now in its tenth year, the invite-only event is considered one of Japan’s most prestigious startup happenings.

nFirst place – Clustern

Cluster is a virtual reality (VR) event hosting platform which can accommodate over 1,000 participants.

600 people participated in the company’s official virtual release party this last Saturday. Participants can join the party through a VR headset or with a computer browser. Similar to how you would create an online chat, users can host their own events by going to Cluster’s homepage and creating a room.

The company takes a 30 percent cut of all ticket sales.

nYoropei (Yoro Pay) by Popshootn

Yoro Pay is an app for keeping track of who owes you money and making payments between friends.

nTownWiFin

TownWiFi lets users connect to two million free wifi spots across six countries with a single application.

nSmooz by Astooln

Smooz is a mobile-focused internet browser with improved tab browsing and a built-in social comment and bookmark feature.

nPlayer! by Ookamin

Player! gives users live updates on their favorite sports teams and allows fans to connect and celebrate together through group chat.

nHoloEyes VR by HoloEyesn

HoloEyes VR allows doctors to see CT scans in mixed and virtual reality for surgery preparation and education.

niNail by Bitn

iNail is a monthly subscription nail printing and design service for salons.

nAPlay Pulse by Nainn

APlay Pulse are wireless earbuds which let you control your phone by voice and can also read notifications for you.

nCanselln

Cansell is a marketplace for buying and selling hotel reservations which don’t have a cancelation policy.

nMatchern

Matcher is a service for matching current students with recent graduates who work in fields that the students are interested in.

nScoutyn

Scouty is an artificial intelligence-powered recruiting tool which helps companies find engineers by crawling social networks and other open data sources like GitHub for candidates.

nOne Visa by Residencen

One Visa helps companies in Japan with the paperwork-heavy process of applying for a visa for foreign employees.

nReceptionist by Delightedn

Receptionist is an online reception desk service for companies.

nLion Project by Hyper8n

Lion Project is the hostess club version of Uber. Use the Facebook bot to call ladies to your event within 30 minutes.
